Music Today Pt. 1

FACT: The MAJORITY of people who are making money by playing instruments are all behind the scenes. FACT: The only people who are actually charting their songs and play an instrument are middle age people or Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift. Playing guitar and piano has become passe’. I remember in my earlier days there was this conspiracy where people thought there was this “unspoken” competition between people who played music. I never had that mentality. All those notes on that guitar and that piano have all been played for years. At this point everything is basically being recycled. The DJ is in charge of music again, which is great because it’s all about the blend of sound. We have all been given so many different genres over the years and they evoke so many different emotions inside us. Today music is all about your influences as an artist and how well you integrate THAT into your sound. Is the song tailored to your voice and delivery? Are you in your lane? Do you even have a lane?
